Disaster & Humanitarian Relief

We aid communities in times of disasters by donating AbbVie medicines, equipping nonprofit partners with needed resources, and delivering relief to our employees.

Israel and Gaza
We donated $1 million to trusted humanitarian relief organizations in response to the escalating conflict in Israel and Gaza. For 2023, the AbbVie Foundation instituted a 2:1 match for employee donations to select humanitarian relief partners and a 3:1 match for eligible nonprofits standing against hate, violence, injustice and persecution of any kind.

Ukraine
We partnered with nonprofit organizations to support relief efforts in Ukraine and surrounding countries, and ensure patients continue to have access to our life-saving medicines.

Turkey & Syria
We committed $1 million to disaster response and relief efforts in the wake of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Puerto Rico
When Puerto Rico was hit by two major hurricanes in 2018, we made a five-year, $100 million commitment to support immediate recovery efforts and long-term resiliency on the island in partnership with Direct Relief and Habitat for Humanity International.
