Alberto Colzi

Alberto Colzi is Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy and Transformation, where he leads the company's global commercial strategy agenda. In this role, he is responsible for shaping and driving the International Growth Strategy, integrating Artificial Intelligence into commercial capabilities at scale, and evolving the company's commercial operating model to respond to an increasingly complex and dynamic external environment. His work focuses on ensuring sustainable growth, faster access to innovation for patients worldwide, and modern, data-driven commercial execution across markets.

Mr. Colzi joined Abbott Italy in 1991 and went on to hold leadership roles of increasing seniority from Commercial Director, General Manager to Senior Vice President across various countries and regions in Latin America, Europe and Asia.

In 2023, he was appointed President, International Therapeutics, where he led the creation and full organizational build-out of the new international business and its governance model. Under his leadership, the organization advanced the International Growth Strategy, delivered strong business performance, successfully launched multiple new assets across therapeutic areas, and expanded AbbVie's geographic footprint, including further growth in China and other priority markets.

Mr. Colzi has also served on the board of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). He earned his engineering degree from Pisa University in Italy and holds a postgraduate degree in business administration from Durham University in the United Kingdom.
