What we stand for

The world's population is 50% women, yet this demographic still struggles with gender equity in the workplace. Women Leaders in Action is working to close that gap not just by increasing the number of women in the room but by helping the women in the room to show up differently.
We do that by enabling all employees to reach their full potential through:

  • Empowering and inspiring women to take charge of their career journey and achieve their full potential
  • Attracting and building future leaders
  • Delivering business results and value by accessing the unique insights women can provide

Working at AbbVie

Skill development is one of our strategic priorities. We do this through activities such as:

  • Ongoing career development seminars to empower our members to activate their career development.
  • Access to senior leaders through smaller, personalized events to help our members feel engaged and valued by senior leaders, which help improve retention and employee satisfaction.

Making an impact

We are committed to helping employees achieve their full potential and support community organizations where we work and live. We focus on empowering girls and women in the local community, amplifying our impact beyond bringing effective medicines to market. This includes:

  • Partnering with organizations such as Dress for Success and Chocolate Chips Association in order to empower and inspire women and girls in our community
  • Volunteering for events that teach the importance of STEM-based curriculum with school-age children in underserved schools.

Be brave. Be bold. Be fearless.

How the women of AbbVie empower one another to speak up, take action and leave their mark.
