Wolfram Nothaft, M.D.

Dr. Wolfram Nothaft serves as Vice President, Asset Strategy Leadership & Portfolio Program Management at AbbVie. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring the asset strategy creation and program goals across R&D are aligned and connected on an enterprise level to help us better work together and make decisions.

Dr. Nothaft has 30 years of experience in academia and the pharmaceutical industry. He has overseen the design and conduct of several key global development programs and successful product registrations for a diverse set of indications and treatment modalities.

Prior to joining AbbVie, Dr. Nothaft served as Chief Medical Officer, EVP of Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Head of Global Clinical Development at Shire. He also held global leadership positions of increasing responsibilities in the US and Europe at Abbott, Astellas, and Hoechst Marion Roussel covering clinical development, medical affairs, translational medicine, regulatory affairs, and project leadership in multiple therapeutic areas.

Dr. Nothaft earned his M.D. from the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen in Germany where he also received his clinical training in Internal Medicine. He completed postgraduate training in Pharmaceutical Medicine in the UK.
