Primal Kaur, M.D.

Dr. Primal Kaur serves as Senior Vice President, Global Development of Immunology, Neuroscience, Eye Care and Specialty at AbbVie. In this role, she is responsible for driving clinical research to advance transformative medicines and improve patient outcomes worldwide. Under her leadership, the teams manage global development, leverage innovation, work cross functionally and navigate global regulatory landscape to drive successful filings and approvals that meet patient needs.

Dr. Kaur is a distinguished biotech executive with over 15 years of experience in the bio pharma industry. Before joining AbbVie, she was Vice President of Inflammation & Rare Disease Therapeutics, Governance Member and Chair of the Inflammation Area at Amgen. She joined Amgen in 2008, and had responsibilities in clinical development, medical affairs, as well as portfolio and enterprise leadership during her 15-year tenure.

Dr. Kaur is also deeply committed to nurturing global development talent and female leadership, actively mentoring emerging young leaders to navigate their career paths confidently.

Dr. Kaur served as an Assistant Professor and Director of the Osteoporosis Center at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Kaur received her M.D. from Government Medical College, Patiala, Punjab, India, and completed her Rheumatology training at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. She holds an MBA from the Temple University, Fox School of Business, Philadelphia.
