Andrew L. Campbell, M.D.

Vice President, Clinical Sciences

Dr. Andrew “Andy” Campbell serves as Vice President, Clinical Sciences at AbbVie. In this role, he has oversight of Clinical Pharmacology, Data and Statistical Sciences, Patient Safety and Quality, Epidemiology, and the Development organizations within the Japan and Asia Pacific region. 

Dr. Campbell joined Abbott/AbbVie in 2006 as an Associate Medical Director for the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) program. Since then, he has held positions in Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, and Asset Strategy Leadership supporting programs across Virology, Immunology, Pain, Endocrinology, and Women’s Health. In 2022, Dr. Campbell assumed the role of Vice President and Therapeutic Area Head, Specialty Development. He was appointed to his current role in 2024. 

Prior to joining AbbVie, Dr. Campbell was the Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of Pediatric Transplant Infectious Diseases at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.

Dr. Campbell received his B.S. in biology from the University of Kentucky and his M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he completed his residency in pediatrics and fellowship training in pediatric infectious diseases.
