Important Program updates to Patient Access Support

As the US healthcare landscape evolves, myAbbVie Assist continuously evaluates eligibility requirements to help support patients while maintaining the integrity and sustainability of the program.

After a robust patient access & affordability assessment that included the review of industry leading Patient Assistance Programs, we decided to make changes to our program eligibility to address the areas with the greatest unmet need.

As part of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), eligibility for the full low-income subsidy has expanded to Medicare Part D beneficiaries with income up to 150% of the Federal Poverty. Limit (FPL).
 
Beneficiaries who receive full LIS benefits pay no Part D premium or deductible and only modest copayment for prescriptions drugs: no more than $11.20 for branded medications.

If you would like to be assessed for our Patient Assistance Program, you must still complete the LIS / Extra Help application process so that you receive a letter stating you do not qualify. Please then provide this LIS denial letter with your Patient Assistance Program application.

Patients who are currently enrolled in the program will continue until the term of their enrollment ends.

Patients still facing affordability concerns can then reapply at the end of their enrollment period. If you are uninsured or have employer-provided or private insurance, you may qualify for continued assistance due to your out-of-pocket expenses.
 
Medicare Patients only – Beginning in 2025 the government is expanding Medicare benefits for patients. Medicare Part D patients will not pay more than $2,000 out-of-pocket total for covered prescription drug costs per year. Patients may also sign up for the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan. This offers patients the option to pay their out-of-pocket prescription drug costs as a capped monthly payment instead of all at once at the pharmacy.
