What we stand for

PRIDE’s mission is to encourage all LGBTQ+ colleagues to bring their whole, authentic selves to work, to promote an environment that fosters productivity, camaraderie, innovation, well-being and mutual respect, and to support the collective objective of bringing remarkable impact to patients.

Our primary objectives are to make a remarkable impact for patients by:

  • Encouraging all LGBTQ+ colleagues to bring their whole, authentic selves to work and engaging allies to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Supporting the LGBTQ+ community in visible ways.
  • Furthering education around LGBTQ+ issues to raise awareness and heighten sensitivity.
  • Fostering connectivity and internal sense of community.

Making an impact

Building a sense of culture and community is an essential objective of the AbbVie PRIDE ERG. We offer visible support, engaging in celebrations and organizing community activities. This includes our viral “Love is Love” T-shirt campaign, which gives everyone throughout AbbVie the opportunity to provide visible, instantly recognizable support for PRIDE and all it represents.

  • We offer AbbVie PRIDE members the opportunity to partake in internal and external programs that focus on being an inclusive leader by promoting diversity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace

Community impact

When it comes to connecting with the external community, AbbVie PRIDE shines in effort and creativity.

  • We support local LGBTQ+ organizations within our communities, coast to coast. AbbVie employees are volunteering their time or contributions to support vital organizations like the Trevor Project and Ali Forney Center. And AbbVie’s Giving & Matching Program stretches our generosity even further.
  • We partner with the Center on Halsted, the Midwest’s largest LGBTQ+ center, bringing in talented keynote speakers to raise awareness and educate the larger community on the issues that impact LGBTQ+ people.
  • AbbVie is also a proud sponsor of HRC, Equality Illinois and Glenview Youth Services.
