Making an impact

Community outreach is part of AHORA’s fabric. Supporting the Latinx communities in our own backyard is one of the many ways we help to develop and support the future Latinx workforce.

  • We’ve embedded with Cristo Rey High School in our hometown community of Waukegan, Illinois. We’ve supported students there with internships, mentoring along with career exploration.
  • To encourage continuation from high school to college, AHORA supports the Waukegan 2 College partnership through various volunteering efforts including mentorship.
  • We partner with the Consortium of Latino Employee Organizations (CLEO) to find ways to collaborate and benchmark on Latino ERG initiatives and activities along with networking and leadership development workshops.
  • To further support our communities, we participate in various philanthropic activities such as Holy Family Soup Kitchen, Feed My Starving Children, Bernie’s Book Bank and Northern Illinois Food Bank.
