Patient Assistance Programs

We understand that not all patients have the means to treat their specific health care needs. That's why AbbVie supports several patient assistance programs that offer our medications at no cost or at reduced prices for eligible patients. AbbVie also participates in government health care programs around the globe that provide discounted medicines for the world's most underserved countries.

AbbVie Patient Assistance Foundation

AbbVie supports the AbbVie Patient Assistance Foundation, which provides eligible patients with AbbVie medications at no cost. In 2011, the Foundation provided free medications valued at $576 million to more than 170,000 patients in the United States.

HIV Waiting List Patient Assistance

AbbVie joined forces with Heinz Family Philanthropies and Welvista, a nonprofit that provides access to prescription medicines, to help deliver free AbbVie HIV medications to patients on waiting lists in 12 U.S. states. These patients are eligible for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), but state cuts have forced even eligible patients to join waiting lists until more funds become available. AbbVie helped develop this program after a call for help from the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors, and now anyone certified on an ADAP waiting list can receive direct access to no-cost AbbVie HIV medications through Welvista.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA)

With the support of AbbVie and other health care leaders, the PPA has helped connect more than 6.8 million people with patient assistance programs that can help them improve their lives. The numbers, and the results, are hard to ignore. More than 2,500 medicines and nearly 500 programs. Information on almost 10,000 free health care clinics. And partnerships with more than 1,300 national and local organizations, all designed to help make an impact on patients' lives.

Together Rx Access Card ®

AbbVie and the nation's leading pharmaceutical companies have come together to sponsor the Together Rx Access Card, which helps hardworking Americans and their families gain access to immediate and meaningful savings on prescriptions at their neighborhood pharmacy. Many of the more than 2.6 million cardholders are able to save 25-40 percent on brand-name prescriptions, building a total savings of more than $150 million.
